Meet the Inn’s New Experiences Director
Adventurer and raconteur Sam Chambers stands ready to show inn guests the Mad River Valley in a way they’ve never experienced before.
Sam joined the inn in December and brings a lifetime of adventure to his new role as Experiences Director. He has explored and worked in both northern and southern climes, where he has taught skiing (alpine, backcountry and cross-country), trained snowshoe guides, led hiking and biking adventures, as well as served as a paragliding and sailing instructor. He has even guided eco tours in Vieques (off the coast of Puerto Rico).
In other words, Sam is ready to show you around the valley on skis, skates, snowshoes, a bike, your own two feet, a canoe, kayak or a stand-up paddle board, even a paraglider for the really adventurous.
Sam is working with inn management to curate a menu of exciting Mad River Valley adventures. Some of the early (and tame) ideas include the Mad River Valley Ramble (the conveyance is our new Volvo XC90) and Blueberry Lake Skating (just five minutes from the inn). For the more adventurous, he’s planning a Slide Brook Snowshoe, an Alpine Skiing Adventure and Cross-Country Skiing, either at Blueberry Lake or Ole’s.
Naturally, these winter adventures will complement some warm weather ones once the season turns. Think hikes and bikes and exploration of nearby swimming holes, not to mention kayaking, horseback riding and bird watching.
Let us know what kinds of fun you’re seeking and we’ll help plan an adventure for you and your group’s interests and comfort level. Reach out to Sam or a guest assistant at 802.496.6350.
