Best Hotel near Lawson’s Finest Liquids

The Green Mountain State has become a global destination for craft beer, and our neck of the woods here at the Pitcher Inn happens to be one of modern Vermont brewing’s truly hallowed epicenters. (A few years back, in fact, Men’s Journal called this corner of Northern Vermont “the Napa Valley of beer.”)

One of the reasons our neighborhood—and Vermont in general—is so esteemed a beer-lover’s stomping ground is the presence of Lawson’s Finest Liquids, until recently based right here in Warren. You can always enjoy Lawson’s brews here at the Pitcher Inn, and the Warren Store just across the street has been a longtime source for the brewery’s bottled and canned offerings. Now, our guests have yet another convenient way to sample the greatness that is Lawson’s Finest Liquids: Last year—which happened to mark the business’s 10th anniversary—the brewery opened a taproom, brewery, and retail store in Waitsfield, a mere five miles north of the Pitcher Inn. An exciting development, to say the least!

Lawson’s Finest Liquids

Sean and Karen Lawson launched Lawson’s Finest Liquids in 2008, the natural outgrowth of Sean’s nearly two decades’ worth of homebrewing experimentation. Originally from New Jersey, he earned degrees in Environmental Science and Forestry at the University of Vermont, and from his home base here in Warren continues to guide outings through the Naturalist Program he established nearly 20 years ago at the Mad River Glen ski area. (You can read more about Sean and the brewery in this NJ.com profile from several years ago.)

From its Sunshine, Double Sunshine, and Triple Sunshine IPAs to its much-loved maple brews, Lawson’s Finest Liquids beers are among the best-known suds Vermont produces. Now besides savoring a pint in our 275 Main or Tracks restaurants here at the Pitcher Inn or surveying the inventory at the Warren Store, you can take a scenic jaunt just minutes north and check out the brand-new Lawson’s taproom and retail store, located at 155 Carroll Road, Waitsfield, VT.

The taproom’s open from noon to 7 PM Monday through Friday, and from 11 AM to 7 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Grab some taster pours or a full pint of tap beer (perhaps with some charcuterie, pretzels, or other nibbles alongside), or pick up a four- or six-pack to go!
