Introducing Lorien Wroten & Adam Longworth

Here at the Pitcher Inn, we’re very happy to welcome Lorien Wroten as our new General Manager and Adam Longworth as our new Executive Chef!

We’re honored to have these two co-owners of The Common Man—a much-esteemed restaurant right here in Warren, Vermont—join The Pitcher Inn team, and we think you’ll love what they’re bringing to the table.

Introducing Lorien Wroten & Adam Longworth

Wroten and Longworth have co-owned The Common Man since 2011, during which time they’ve ushered an absolute mainstay of the Mad River Valley dining scene into a new era.

Within its gorgeous wood-beamed dining room—situated in a 19th-century barn—Chef Longworth served creative yet welcoming fare that won him more than a few accolades. Alister & Paine called The Common Man “the perfect marriage of small-town hospitality and world-class cuisine,” while The Burlington Free Press described Chef Longworth’s dishes as “precise and often stunningly good food.”

Wroten, who hails from Maryland, has worked in high-level development, operations, and management positions in the restaurant business, including as General Manager of New York City’s Barbuto Restaurant. Longworth described her to The Burlington Free Press as “the glue of the whole operation” at The Common Man. She brings an impressive skillset as well as a winning personality to The Pitcher Inn, and we’re truly delighted to have her.

Chef Longworth, meanwhile, is a Vermont native and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America who’s refined his craft in some top-caliber restaurants, including the Mandarin Oriental in London under Chef David Nichols, at the Gotham Bar & Grill in New York City under Chef Alfred Portale, and at restaurant701 in Washington, D.C. as Executive Chef.

Chef Longworth has been reworking The Pitcher Inn menus and kitchen over the past several weeks, and we’re excited for our guests and diners to experience his vision firsthand.

Join Us in Welcoming Our New General Manager & Executive Chef at the Pitcher Inn This Fall

General Manager Lorien Wroten and Executive Chef Adam Longworth now attach themselves to the story of The Pitcher Inn, which has offered Relais & Châteaux luxury in the Mad River Valley since 1997, and which in doing so honors the spirit of the original hotel that first opened its doors to travelers here during the Civil War years. Come experience our latest chapter this autumn, which happens to be among the all-out prettiest times to visit the fall-color-rich Mad River Valley. Be sure to bring your appetite!
