Join us in 2023 as we tour the world of wine via a series of distinctive dinners and wine pairings.
For our first wine dinner of the fall season, we will be traveling to South Africa. You will be guided by Chef Jacob Ennis who will prepare a five-course dinner reflective of South African cuisine with a Vermont flair, and Sommelier Tunney King who will be pouring a selection of varietals from South Africa.
Here are the details…
What: Five South African wines complementing a five-course dinner.
First: Chakalaka Salad (Tomato, Onions, and Spices) with El Bandito “I Wish I Was a Ninja” from Testalongo
Second: Vegetarian Durban Bunny Chow (Curried Vegetables Encrusted in House-made Bread) with Cabernet Franc from Longridge
Third: Seafood Pap (Porridge of White Maize, Seafood and Tomato Broth) with Albarino from Flowergirl
Fourth: Braai (Wood Grilled Beef, Grilled Sweet Corn, Cauliflower with Chorizo and Feta, with Braai Sout) with “Skebenga” Cape Blend from JR Wines
Fifth: Koeksisters (Braided Donuts) with Noble Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc from Benguela Cove
When: Thursday, September 21, 2023, 6 pm
Where: The Brook Room at The Pitcher Inn
Why: To further appreciate exemplary South African wines and their terroir
Cost: $195 per person plus tax and gratuity ($125 sans wine)

Note: Tracks tavern will be open on September 21 with a more limited menu that usual so we can put our focus on the wine dinner. Thanks for your understanding.
