Welcome Brooks Bradbury
Gale and George Dorsey are pleased to welcome Brooks Bradbury as the new general manager of The Pitcher Inn.
Brooks comes to the inn with deep hospitality experience in various roles and properties. Brooks has New England roots; he started his career at The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massachusetts before going on to manage private clubs and luxury guests ranches out west. Brooks was the opening general manager of Primland, in Meadows of Dan, Virginia and more recently the Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile in Kanab, Utah. Most recently Brooks repositioned a luxury boutique hotel on Chesapeake Bay in Chestertown, Maryland. And he and his wife Susan were married just down Route 100 in Stamford, Vermont.
If you’re curious about Brooks and what drew him to the inn, read on. He squeezed in a few quick responses to our questions while getting to know the staff and operations at the inn.
We jumped at the chance to return to Vermont, and for me it’s an honor to once again manage a well-known New England village inn. My career began in the Berkshires where owners Jack and Jane Fitzpatrick, themselves from Rutland, Vermont were influential mentors and role models. Ever since, Susan and I have sought out opportunities in places of great natural beauty. To be able to live and work in Warren and the Mad River Valley is a dream come true. We can’t wait to explore the area!
Yes! This is a return full circle for us. When we met, Susan lived in Stamford, Vermont where she was raising her children on a horse farm there. We were married October 21st, 2000 at Stamford Community Church on Route 100 and have fond memories of the Stamford community. Our youngest daughter went on to graduate from Castleton College.
The guest rooms at The Pitcher Inn are in their own category of luxury. Uniquely appointed, and luxuriously comfortable I never stop appreciating the authentic and whimsical details that go into our guest accommodations. Of course, having the amazing Warren Store right across the street makes this experience a special one.
Graciousness. Kindness. Integrity. It is a pleasure to join the team and to begin welcoming guests to this extraordinary inn and village. I endeavor to build on the significant work of others before me and to lead our Pitcher Inn and Warren Store team into the future.
We first stayed in LODGE and loved it for its impressive bed and ceiling of stars. SKI is quite remarkable too with extraordinary Mad River Valley ski memorabilia, and I’ve come to love TROUT with its circle of indoor trees and private porch right on the water. I encourage our guests to try a different room each time.
